I invite you to join me for the celebration of the following two Diocesan Masses in person or online:
A requiem Mass in the Cathedral on Saturday 17th April at 12noon for the repose of the soul of HRH The Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh, that is, prior to his funeral service in S. George’s Chapel Windsor Castle which begins with the observance of a national one minute silence at 3 o’clock. Those wishing to attend in the Cathedral will need to go through the normal booking arrangements via the Cathedral. The Mass will also be live streamed on the Diocesan website.
This requiem Mass displaces the Deacons’ Renewal Mass which was set for that day. The Mass for the deacons will now be the following Saturday -24thApril at 12noon- in the Cathedral and also live streamed. Usual booking arrangements in place for the Cathedral.

Whilst the Church rightly stays out of partisan politics, Catholic Social Teaching is very clear that we as Catholics have moral a duty to participate in the democratic process. In due course there will be an election document from Archbishop George Stack and me which you are invited to reflect on and use in any discussions you may have with candidates.
